Scenes From A Shrimp Boil…

(This is a picture heavy post)

First off,  you have to understand that a Shrimp Boil is a big deal  to us-  Shrimp Boils have figured into our lives at many celebratory points-  Kate’s and my Wedding,  many parties on the dock here in Fulton,  we even flew our pots and spices up to Wyoming to help celebrate Larry’s 80th birthday a few years ago.   That experience ALMOST got us into a side business of catering Shrimp Boils for paying customers at their site;  we would pack up our supplies and bring the party to them.  The business model did not pan out,  but we got a GREAT logo from our friend Addison Billingsley;  I am most sorry that it didn’t work out because I would have loved to pass cards around with this logo:

So it would only make sense to commemorate our leaving Rockport for our new adventures,  along with John & Suzanne celebrating the completion of their unplanned remodel due to Harvey, AND the relocation of one G. Bradbury Catlow to Rockport to take on a new role,  with a Shrimp Boil for all our many friends.

See below for more pics…

It’s not ALL about shrimp-  shucking out a sack of Copano Bay oysters plays heavily into it.   A word of advice-  do NOT get in between John and the oyster bucket,  you WILL get injured…

Lookit those shucking girls! Miranda taught Amy & Hanna how to handle a shucking knife…

The shrimp are ready…

Dang! That’s heavier than I thought…

The Dump- Bradio keeps ’em from sliding off the end of the table…

Job well done! Time to eat…

Sorry,  no more pics-  too busy eating…

( A good time was had by all)

  1. We are so glad that we count Kate and Lee as friends and fellow sailors. Too bad we weren’t in town for this awesome shrimp boil and send-away party! Looks awesome! We will follow your travels and hope our paths cross again.

    1. Yeah, sorry you missed the shrimp boil, but happy you made it by the marina to see us off. It’ll be good to see y’all again someday…

  2. A great IGroup tonight. There was just enough Lee Catlow to savor until we see you again. Don’t stay gone too cotton-picking long you scrubby Texan. Seriously, enjoy this adventure as long as you can.
